Churches in Thurrock Stanford-le-Hope Methodist Church
Who We Are
We are situated in the High Street and have been serving our community here for almost a 150 years. We are a warm welcoming church of mostly older active people. On Sunday mornings we love to sing and are usually assisted once a month by our choir.
We are involved in a number of outreach activities. Our very popular Parent and Toddler Group meet on Thursday mornings. We welcome the community to a Ploughman’s Lunch on the first Friday of the month. We also have an annual Flower Festival in July and Festive Fayre in November. Further afield, we support Whitechapel Mission’s work with the homeless.
‘Knit and Natter’ meet once a fortnight on Thursday afternoons. Some of us knit for pleasure and charity, as we prayerfully natter about God’s world. There is also a short mat Bowls Club, at which we bowl with enthusiasm rather than expertise.
We would be delighted to see you and welcome you to our happy fellowship.
