We are a happy village
church that provides warm fellowship in the name
of Jesus Christ, and worship and preaching
centred on the power of the Holy Spirit
We seek to spread the Good News of Salvation
throughout the local community by witnessing and
working together.
Whilst we acknowledge our shortcomings, we aim to
lead lives that reflect God's love for everyone. |

On the weekend of 13 and 14
October, 1990 we celebrated 100 years of worship
in the present Chapel, although the story of
Methodism goes back at least to 1850 when one
woman started delivering tracts. The first
meetings were held in 1866 and in 1885 the first
wooden weatherboard building was constructed. |

HORNDON-ON-THE-HILL
FEAST AND FAYRE
On the last
weekend in June each year the main village street
is closed to traffic with many events taking
place throughout the weekend. We in the Methodist
Chapel take a very active part; in the chapel
there is a flower festival and an exhibition of
old local photographs and an opportunity for a
quiet time. In the Youth Hall (built in 1963) we
serve a wide range of home-made refreshments.
Many hundreds of people visit us each year - what
a wonderful opportunity it is for us.
