St Andrew's Methodist Church (Herongate)

Who We Are

We are a small group of mainly older people both from the village and further afield. Visitors often comment on the prayerful atmosphere in the Church and the warm welcome they receive. The building is traditional Essex timber structure enhanced by beautiful stained glass windows. The worship is also fairly traditional though informal in relaxed comfortable surroundings. There is always time for coffee and a chat for those who want to stay after the service. This also provides an opportunity to discuss any relevant issues. We have is an area set aside as a prayer corner available for quiet or private prayer as required.
The premises are ideal for use as retreat/quiet days with a pleasant garden area and a nearby country park. Local Parish Council meetings are held in the hall as are birthday parties, dance and exercise groups.
Our congregation is often a mixture of regular members boosted by visitors, old friends and the occasional passer by.
